About Crumpet
Crumpet is everything you’d expect from a Miniature Bull Terrier!
A fun-loving, muscular little nugget who does everything with enthusiasm. Crumpet is looking for a home as an only dog with an experienced Bull Breed family who can continue his training and socialisation and love and appreciate life with an extrovert. At home, Crumpet is pretty chill, he is crate trained, sleeps soundly through the night, doesn’t have any separation anxiety, and is a total cuddle monster whose favourite pastime is curling up on your lap (or on top of your head). He is a fast learner who has quite the repertoire of tricks up his sleeve, he has been working with a force-free trainer who has also helped tremendously with Crumpets leash skills and basic manners.
Crumpet needs daily exercise and adventures, as well as mental enrichment at home. He walks well on leash and has worked very hard at his handler focus (he previously would plant himself down if he thought passers by might pat him) whilst you'll be getting nowhere fast with Crumpet, he doesn't pull. He can get a little nervous of super busy streets and prefers walking in quieter areas. Playing is vital for a happy Crumpet! Flirt poles and tough toys that can withstand the jaws of a land-shark are super important. He is in fabulous health, however, his forever family will need to be mindful of his sensitive gut and make sure to feed him in an appropriate diet of which we will give guidance.
Crumpet LOVES people, a lot! Making new friends excites Crumpet to no end and this is something his new family will need to work on, he can jump and sometimes nip with enthusiasm and for this reason, he is not suitable to be re-homed with children. With other dogs, Crumpet needs some guidance, whilst he does have a few friends that he plays well with, he has shown some undesirable behaviours with some dogs. Crumpet does resource guard around other animals and has been known to be a bit of a bully with dogs that he feels he can push around. As his behaviour can be a little unpredictable around other dogs, he is not suited to the dog park or super high traffic dog areas, his new family will need to continue working with Crumpet and understand that he may never be every dog's best friend, instead, organising playdates with confident, well socialised, large dogs that will help him learn appropriate play. Crumpet is not reactive to dogs on leash when out walking.
Ideally, Crumpet is looking for a family that understands the breed first and foremost, anyone who has had a Bull Terrier or has spent a lot of time with them knows they are unique! Crumpet must have access inside always and truly be a part of the family, he is not suited to full-time workers who will just leave him in the back yard all day. Crumpet is still very much a puppy and we are looking for a family that will be committed to ongoing training, he is a smart boy who enjoys learning, he has progressed so far with kind leadership and will continue to progress if his forever family put in the work.
Crumpet is 100% Bull Terrier, a hilarious clown, a bull in a china shop, a couch potato and so incredibly loveable! He is a true joy and his forever family will count their lucky stars that he landed in their lives!
