About Sourdough
*In foster care in Glebe, Sydney*
Sourdough is a beautiful, sociable cat who arrived in our care ready to give birth to a litter of kittens! Now that her buns have come out of the oven, it's time to find this lovely young lady her very own forever home.
The perfect companion if you work from home or are a stay-at-home parent, Sourdough loves to be close to her family while they go about their tasks. She's an enthusiastic chirper, and very smart - having quickly learned that the sound of the kettle means her humans are about to visit the fridge! She's also trained her foster carers to turn on the tap so she can drink the running water :)
Although she prefers a seat next to a lap rather than directly in one, Sourdough is not shy of affection. She'll greet you every morning with a delighted purr and is very skilled at nudging your hands until you're scratching her neck in juuuuust the right place :) During the day she'll seek you out for gentle headbutts, and loves it when you crouch down to eye level. She loves to spend time at the end of your bed and kneads the bedspread to show off how comfortable she is. Her other favourite places to sit are on pieces of paper and bathmats!
Sourdough doesn’t require constant attention but does love to be hanging around people. She's started learning to enjoy her harness and the accompanying opportunities for outdoor sunbaking :)
Like all Maggie's pets, Sourdough is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be with a single person, couple or family with older kids who understand I'm not a lap cat, and are happy for me to show affection through my companionship. I'm looking for an indoor-only home, but would really appreciate some secure outside access too (an enclosed courtyard/run or a backyard where I can play in the plants while on a lead and harness would be great!).
A quieter home where I can settle down for a regular snooze would be amazing, and I would love it if my new humans were around very regularly.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a quiet, laid-back young lady. It's only very rarely that I bust out my playful side!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I can be a little jumpy with loud noises and fast movement, but would be fine with older children who can respect my boundaries and read my body language. My tail and purring are my best guides to how I’m feeling!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I've been a very patient and loving mum to my kittens, however now that they're growing up, I prefer my own space. I think I'd definitely be happiest as the only pet in your life :)

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
