About Goose
Introducing Goose, an affectionate 1 year old male kelpie cross with a gentle, loving personality.
Goose has settled well into his foster home and enjoyed the company of the resident dog, but more than anything he loves his humans and will actively seek their affection. A scratch behind the ears, on his chest or down his back is well received.
He can be a little wary when meeting new people, especially if they approach him too quickly, but he is quick to relax when given the space to approach in his own time.
Goose is quite content spending time outside, but loves to be invited in where he feels a part of the family. He is toilet trained, and sleeps quietly through the night, waking when the sun comes up. He will let you know when he needs to be let out with a single bark.
Goose has started his basic training and can sit and stay with the right encouragement (he is very food motivated). He has started learning to walk on a loose leash, but this, together with his recall, is a work in progress and will require dedicated practice.
Goose will need regular exercise and enrichments, but is not an extremely high energy dog. Mostly he just wants to be part of the family. As such Goose would prefer a home with someone around most of the time. While he has been great with another dog we feel he would be equally happy as an only dog enjoying all the attention of his humans.
He has grown in confidence around the two children in his foster home, but can still be a little wary of them at times. As such, he is best suited to a family with older children who will be calm and gentle with him and help to build his trust.
Goose will need a spacious and well secured back yard.
If you think you can offer Goose the home he needs, please get in touch.
Goose is Located in Victoria.
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
