I've been adopted!
About Shadow Moon
I am the most adorable and loving little lady you could meet . I love to be around my people and am extremely social but can sometimes become anxious without my humans nearby. True to my staffy breed, I'm very excitable when people first meet me but I calm down after a good game of fetch or tug of war.
Shadow is a smart little girl. She can be a little stubborn at first but responds well to treats. Her recall isn't perfect but again, if you have food to offer she's all ears. Shadow can sit, wait, stay and even has a cute handshake when she really wants something you have.
I love any and all food available to me. My eating manners can change from time to time. Sometimes I have been known to be a bit of hoover and gulp my food down. Other times I like to take my time and pick out my ingredients one by one. I can be a bit snappy and nippy and have been known to snatch food from hands when not expected . Whilst in foster care we have been working on her being "gentle" when taking food from our hands.
Shadow loves exploring the outdoors and if her yard or fences have any holes, she will find them and try to escape to the great outdoors. She knows how to use her nose to push doors open and can disappear in a flash! As explained earlier Shadow can be very excitable when meeting new people. When she's excited she can tend to jump up and scratch you with her sharp claws. Coming into foster care she was a bit mouthy and will nip when sheâs this excited but we have been working on this and she is learning. It is due to her excitable and nippy behaviour that makes her unsuitable for young children.
She has shown no signs of being destructive except for her toys. She hardly ever barks unless she wants your attention. She only digs when burying bones, treats or toys.
Did someone say walkies?? Shadow Moon knows her lead and harness means we are going out on a walk . Being a staffy she has tonnes of energy to burn!! She will still have energy left even after a long walk so a game of backyard fetch or tug of war is a great idea. She loves running around doing zoomies in the yard .
Shadow Moon came to the rescue after being attacked by a large dog. (We are unsure of the details about the attack).
Whilst on walks and vet visits she hasn't shown any aggression to other dogs so far. She seems like a very friendly girl who just wants to play. That being said, given her love of toys, it is possible she may be protective of her toys and become defensive if other dogs go near them. This is untested this far, so an only dog home may be best for her. She has been living with a cat in foster care and once introduced gently she has shown no sign of wanting to hurt him. She tried to lick the cats head a few times and didnât even react when he hissed at her, just walked away and laid back on her pet bed.
Shadow has had both of her ears flushed and treated as when she arrived her ears were in terrible stateHer new owners will need to ensure as with most Staffys her ears are kept clean
Shadow Moon has so much love to give and would be nothing short of a loyal family member. She would prefer a quiet house environment as she can be overstimulated with too many things going on around her . Not suitable with young children as she is a very strong little girl who is still a little mouthy and can snatch food from your hands if not careful . Must have a very well fenced and secure yard with no gaps Shadow will require a good daily walk as she has an endless amount of energy to burn plus she also loves getting out to take in the smells of the neighborhood.Shadow comes with obe of our adoption packs includingZenify HarnessZenify LeadZenify Travel seat belt safetyZenify Grooming GloveZenify Travel bowl3 Months Supply of flea and Worm Treatment
