About Winston
Hello potential new family!
I'm Winston and I am adorable Aussie Bulldog, although you could easily mistake me for a little love machine!
So my foster mum has said this is the place that I tell you all about me …so okay here goes
I am a bulldog so yep you betcha I love my humans! I love chillaxing with, doing back yard things with them, watching a movie with them – you name it – I’m in – how fun is it to hang out with your bffs!
So I came into care with some anxiety (Separation) I do still have a small amount of that so I am looking for a home where there is someone home (shift work, retired, works from home, stay home mum or dad) … I don’t need to be on top of you I just won’t do good at a home where you are at work 8+ hrs a day. I am not destructive or anything I will just do a sook when I see you and tell you how much I miss you.
I am a bulldog so of course I love having access to inside and outside of the house – I mastered using the doggy door (took a few goes and treats of course) but once I worked out the power of that door nothing was stopping me from being able to have the best of both worlds.
I was originally an only dog before coming into care but the rescue then introduced me to some dogs and once they got over my style of saying hello (I will explain promise… keep reading) I got along with heaps of them – there was one dog who was not keen on me so a bit of growling was exchanged and then she was moved (but she was dog selective) . I would love to have another dog as company but it’s not mandatory as long as my humans are very active in my life.
Okay so I better rip the band aid off and explain my introducing to other dogs – my foster mum says it’s a bizarre high pitch half strangle bark growl cry and I stick my butt up really high in the air and my head down and I do this bark for a good minute or two – it can scare some dogs off (and humans) and some dogs can try and have a go at me but once I get that strangle cry out of my system I am actually a really dog friendly dog. (I spent a few weeks hanging out with 8 other dogs and had a blast – big and small dogs) - if you come and meet me please give me a chance I know first impressions are important but can we start the first impression after I have finished my little ‘cry’
My foster mum says while I am a good walking buddy I am strong so need to be mindful of that (I also do the cry when seeing dogs as we are walking), my foster mum says that whilst she takes me walking at night due to my breed – I certainly do make things interesting.
I am thinking I will probably need to go with kids that either can bounce if I accidentally run into them with my boof head or kids over 8 that can brace on impact – I’m not overly energetic or bouncy in the normal day but I am a bulldog so you know what they say – why go around when I can go thru it!
I used to live with a cat – they were the boss! My foster mum says I'm a delight to have and one of the kindest sweetest natures she has even seen.
Being a bulldog I will need to have access to air conditioning and do very much enjoy sleeping inside – I have a dog bed that I’m happy to catch my beauty sleep on.
I enjoy good food but do have to be mindful of not getting fed lots of treats – it goes straight to my hips!
I love people but do get sad when they get scared of me cause I’m a bulldog I’m not scary at all – my foster mum says I’m just a love bug. I am used to being able to have a nap mostly of a morning, lunchtime and evening (hee hee) and in between all that a play.
I am happy to ride shot gun (okay yeah I know back seat only) in the car with you - I will keep you company for hours while you drive.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, pls send thru an adoption app.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
