Interested adopters please complete the adoption form -https://form.jotform.com/213045226715853
ABOUT SALVADOR:
Salvador is a sweet, active, cuddly, playful boy who just wants love! Everyone who meets him instantly falls in love with her handsome face and goofball personality.
He will need a home with a backyard as he is a medium-high energy dog, that loves to run around!
Salvador is cheeky, eccentric and loving boy. He will let you know when its time to walk and we have even nicknamed him “Chewbacca”, due to the funny, little chirps he lets out! He loves playing tug / fetch and touch is love language! He is obsessed with cuddles, being wrestled and pats.
Sal is friendly with people and he absolutely loves kids! He also loves meeting other dogs!
While in foster care, Salvador has settled very well to living indoors, with access to outdoors. He is not destructive and is generally well behaved.
Everything he needs will be provided in his adoption pack (toys, bed, crate, kennel, lots of his favourite food etc).
RESCUE STORY:
Salvdor’s owners (and now foster carers) originally rescued Sal from Canberra Pound, about 5 months ago.
The young couple treat Sal like their baby and have ensured that he receives lots of love! They have been doing professional dog training sessions with Sal to teach him obedience and commands, help with socialisation and meeting new people.
Unfortunately, Sal’s previous owners have had to make the regrettable decision to re-home, due to their home and lifestyle. They live in a small apartment (with an outdoor area), and both work full time (8am-7pm), as well as both attending University.
They hope for Sal to be adopted to a family that can give him all the time, attention and space that he deserves!
IDEAL FAMILY:
Salvador will blossom in a loving & patient and loving household. His love language is definitely TOUCH, he absolutely adores cuddles, kisses, pats and any form of attention and LOVE! He is the perfect companion and will make the very best friend!
He will need time (atleast a few weeks) to adjust in his new home and environment. He will require slow introductions to new people and places.
Once comfortable, he makes a great companion for all activities, including car rides, adventures, walks and runs, and just hanging out with his humans at home.
Salvador will need a family that can continue professional training, enrichment activities & reinforce good behaviours.
TRAINING:
Salvador is a quick learner and has enjoyed training and enrichment activities. He has been doing professional training sessions, as well as practicing training at home!
He is very intelligent and knows his basic commands (check out the videos to see Sal sit, shake & more)!
Sal is crate trained, non-destructive indoors, and is happy to walk on lead.
He can get quite excited and sometimes barks and pulls during walks. Although, he is still learning his manners on a lead, he is getting better everyday.
Salvador can get nervous around strangers (especially large and tall men), and in very high stimulus/busy environments. He can initially bark, growl, lunge on lead, and act unsure of strangers.
However, he is NOT an aggressive dog. He requires a family that can build his trust and make him feel safe in new situations!
He is very friendly, loving, happy and calm within his home and with non-intimidating/threatening people!
BREED: note** we do not know Salvador’s exact breed. The breeds listed are based off information from his previous owners, the pound and expert opinions.
Medical notes
Salvador has no health conditions or issues.
He has completed all initial vet work - This includes, health checks, desexing, microchip, vaccinations, worming & flea treatment and behavioural assessment.
