About Sizzle
If you’re looking for a little shadow, Sizzle would love to be it ! This girl is super affectionate and wants nothing more than to be with her people and receiving lots of love - her carers are working on her independence !
Sizzle came from rural NSW so is still getting used to the hustle and bustle of Sydney life. She will need an experienced handler to help her continue to navigate suburban/city life. We would prefer to find her a home out of inner city living, but may be suitable to inner city living if potential families can demonstrate their ability to help her gain confidence.
This girl loves road trips and will sleep peacefully. She loves her daily walk and as long as she gets out daily she doesn’t need a lot of exercise. She hates the rain but is tolerant of baths. She can be a little nervous of new people, but doesn’t take long to warm up and then will be anyone’s best friend. Sizzle came into care with no training and is learning new things every day. She is now almost crate trained which is important as she can become destructive if left alone. She is an easy and well mannered house mate but needs work with toilet training.
Sizzle is learning how to be a social lady out and about. She is happy to meet quiet and well mannered dogs, but can let out a growl if dogs approach too quickly or get in her face. She can sometimes have a little bit of leash reactivity to other dogs and will bark from afar if she feels threatened. Her new owner must be prepared to continue her socialisation and understand how to advocate for her if he is feeling anxious. She is not suited to dog park situations and would suit being an only dog at home but could live with another quiet and respectful dog.
We are looking for a home without lots of stairs and definitely no cats or pocket pets! She is really good with children but due to her small size we will be looking for a home with either no kids or dog savvy children who can demonstrate their ability to respect a small dog. She isn’t good being left alone so will need someone home most of the time.
Sizzle needs to be fed a high quality diet and be a mostly inside dog. She will need an owner who is financially able to accommodate potential medical issues that might arise when owning a dachshund.
We are expecting to receive many applications for Sizzle so if you feel you are a good fit for her, please fill in an application on our website and add in as much detail as you can about the type of home you can provide.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
