About Ernie
Ernie is a loving, loyal, intelligent and handsome boy!
Typical to his Border Collie breed, Ernie is highly intelligent. He picks up new tricks very easily - particularly when there is a tasty treat on offer. Erine knows his basic cues well and is keen to please his people.
Ernie’s favourite place in the world is anywhere by your side. He’s incredibly loyal to his human. His favourite toys are any form of ball and fetch is his favourite game.
Ernie can be worried by men and needs to be helped gain confidence when meeting strangers. He is a good guard dog. He would do well with a single person or a quiet couple.
As well as the typical physical stimulation requirements for any dog, Ernie will also require lots of mental stimulation to keep his incredible mind at work. Ernie is generally good on lead, but can pull a bit when he sees an interesting looking dog.
Ernie is very well behaved when left home alone, he keeps himself occupied and has not been known to become destructive. Ernie will need to be kept inside on warmer days, so an inside lifestyle with access to the outdoors to go to the toilet and chew his bones would be ideal!
Ernie is a typical Border Collie, whose job is to herd even when they are off the clock! Ernie has been known to try to herd smaller children, so children in the home will need to be older (10+ years).
Ernie can become quite upset by thunderstorms and will need to be inside to reassure him that he is safe.
Ernie’s looking for a home with people who will let him dote on them. He will make for an excellent companion for an active family.
