About Dr Zeus
Before you apply please understand that this incredible boy CANNOT at any stage be allowed around children under 16 years of age
Anyone who is planning on applying must be absolutely able to show commitment and guarantee us that he will NEVER at any stage be around or in close proximity to children....... If you cannot commit to this then please dont bother applying
Dr Zeus is a very loving affectionate boy who is looking for his perfect home where he can play throughout the day and have lots of cuddles at night. He is quite an independent dog but loves the attention when he wants it. He steals the hearts of everyone he meets and cannot wait to find his forever home!
Dr Zeus is a very obedient boy. He can sit, drop, stay and come. He listens very well when you give him commands and shows you just how good he is when it comes to his obedience. He loves a good game of fetch
He is housetrained and extremely well mannered.
Dr Zeus is an Australian Shepherd, therefore needs quite a lot of exercise. . He loves his daily walks and will do zoomies just before he goes to show how excited he is. Ideally, he will need to go on at least 1-2 walks a day. . He loves bones which he gets 1-2 days a week. He is left home alone 7-8 hours a day when his foster mum is at work and giving him bones keeps him busy during the day. He does not chew or dig, however if he does not get the correct enrichment (toys, bones, exercise etc) he may.
Dr Zeus is a social but very independent boy. He loves his own space, like his own little bubble and doesnât like being invaded (especially right in his face). When meeting people for the first time he can be a bit nervous but will slowly warm up to you. Dr Zeus gets along with other dogs but again if his space is invaded, he will not like it. When Zeus gets to know someone, he will get a lot more confidence and jump all over you with lots of kisses. He absolutely loves the residence cat and will even do zoomies around the house with him when he is let inside. He also barks when he sees a new person walk in the front door, this is just him wanting to let everyone know someone is here. Apart from that, he rarely barks. Dr Zeus is looking for a loving but patient family (with no children) that can give him the time and slow introductions to new people, dogs and new environments. As Zeus seems to not enjoy dogs in his face, if there is another dog in residence we are seeking a female that is not a space invader......
He is a double-coated long-haired dog therefore will need regular grooming. He will need brushing every day
He is very good in the car
When Zeus arrived he was on a pretty heavy concoction of medication ( sedatives) as the former owners had children that he had shown aggression to so he was drugged up to try and stop this behaviour. It did not help
We have had this beautiful boy in care for a long time now and have slowly weaned him off these medications with great success
IDEAL HOME:
Dr Zeus is looking for a very special home where he can gain even more confidence than he has now. Unfortunately, Dr Zeus does not suit a home with any children or where he may be in contact with children. He is such a loving boy and needs someone who can give him all the time in the world he needs to feel comfortable and at home. . He needs the stimulation during the day but someone to cuddle him at night time on the couch.
Adoption Criteria
We seek a special home for this incredible boy who will keep him away from children as he has shown aggressive behaviours towards them in his previous home. This means he can NEVER ever be let off lead around areas where children might be as a safety precaution
A home with a nice large yard for him to play with grass and shade
A home with working family is fine as long as he is kept stimulated and walked every day
We would be strongly leaning towards an application with breed experience or similar
adoption pack included
