About Scrat
To apply for Scrat please click here: https://safe.org.au/find-a-dog/animal/byd1267/
Scrat is a young dog with a bit to learn and will need ongoing guidance and an owner who won't let him be the boss of the household. This cutie is a typical smallish dog: a sweet companion but with a good dose of attitude. He has a few behaviours that he may not have been corrected on when younger, for example he an get possessive of toys/bones etc, jealous of the other dog and cats in his foster home, and also protective of 'his' house and humans, which means that when visitors arrive, sometimes he nips them. Scrat's carer has been working on checking him each time he does something unacceptable, and he is improving in these areas, however he still requires a quiet home without children and should be kept away from child visitors. A household without too many new people coming and going would be great.
Scrat plays well with the large dog in his foster home, and likes a game of fetch, although is still learning to give back the toy!
He is toilet trained and enjoys a walk to stretch his legs.
If you think Scrat would fit into your home, and you have some experience with small dogs who need a firm but loving hand at times then please fill in our full SAFE Application Form available at https://safe.org.au/find-a-dog/animal/byd1267/ - we'd love to hear from you.

Our adoption process for the successful applicant includes a meet and greet, (including your dog if applicable), a home check (or photos of your yard and fencing to be supplied to us if not local), and a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.
All adoption fees must be deposited into our SAFE Bunbury bank account in full before adoption trial starts (we cannot accept cash). The Adoption Agreement will be emailed to the selected applicant in advance of meeting your chosen dog.
After the adoption trial period has been completed we arrange transfer of ownership of the dog's microchip to the new owner, and email out the vet records.
