About Lucy
Lucy is a big ball of love. She loooves her humans and greets her carer with joy in the mornings and whenever she returns from being out, or even just the bathroom! She is a girl who bonds and loves hard.
Lucy has a heart of gold. Because of her size and bounciness, Lucy would fare well living with older, calm children. Deserving of all of the love and attention, Lucy will be best suited as an only-dog in her forever home and will require ongoing reassurance around other dogs. Lucy’s forever people will be offered assistance with building her confidence around other canine friends. She has been friends with cats she has lived with.
Lucy hasn't always had nice humans in her life, so she is worried about strangers, prefering to avoid them when she can. She warms up quickly if they allow her to lead the interaction. She isn't defensive, she will run away or hide behind a trusted human if she can, but she deserves people who support her to make friends on her own terms.
One of Lucy’s highlights of the day is her walks! She loves a fast paced walk, or even better a run, with her humans. Those long, dangly legs sure do store plenty of energy! She would love to go to a home with a nice big backyard to run around in, with a shady spot to enjoy when the sun comes out.
She really enjoys comfort, obviously we all do, but she enjoys it in that way that only a dog who has not known comfort can. She can often be found on the couch, spotty belly up with her legs in the air.
Lucy is looking for a safe, loving home. She can spook a little easier than most due to her past, but calm and gentle reassurance from her favourite human puts her at ease.
If I sound perfect for you, please complete the short adoption application form in the attached link, please note this is the only way your application will be considered: https://homelesshounds.com.au/adopt/dogs
Medical notes
Lucy will need sunscreen on her nose when outside in sunny weather. She would prefer to be an indoor girl, she loves being comfy and struggles to regulate her temperature in cold or hot weather.
Lucy has had multiple litters, but has recovered well.
