Meet Benaud – a gentle and loving boy who wants nothing more than to be by your side forever and ever, and go for long, sniffy walks.

Benaud is very excited by the mere presence of his human friends, and will do his best to encourage you to give him a cuddle or a belly-rub.

Quite the athlete, regular exercise and enrichment for Benaud is a must. He pulls hard on the lead when he sees something that interests him – it’s the husky in him – and could use more training in this area, however is very responsive to commands. Off lead, he has good recall. He also loves an adventure, and will be the first one in the car for any road trips with his humans.

Benaud does get very anxious about being left at home, and has been known to escape in search of his humans when left alone. Fences are no obstacle to him – he can impressively scale a 7ft fence in a single bound – so a home with someone who is home is essential. An apartment or a home where Benaud is left alone outside would not be suitable.

Although he started his life as an outdoor dog, Benaud is exceptionally well house-trained, and has learnt some new indoor manners quickly. Benaud grew up with kids and is very gentle around them. He is, however, prone to being quite vocal towards house guests, particularly older men.

He gets along well with both big and small dogs and loves to play chase. Not tested with cats, however his chase drive suggests he would not be compatible.
