Van Diesel is an 11 year old English Staffy.

The perfect boy to compare to a little land seal with a big cheeky smile

He is a short stocky little fella with typical English Staffy stocky little legs

Van Diesel has been a beautiful foster dog over the past 7 weeks. He has shown off his gorgeous and cheeky personality, whilst all the time reminding us how smart he is and we’ll mannered.

Constantly leave you commenting on how much of a “good boy” he is! He is content with a short daily walk (20 minutes or so) but the lead up to this is no doubt what stimulates him most - he loves knowing you are taking him out for a walk, or any old adventure!

Van Diesel is fully house trained.

ENRICHMENT

Van Diesel is typically quite happy with sunning himself in the yard when alone or having a little snooze in the shade. He doesn’t pay much attention to toys but will be sitting at your feet like a little angel the moment he knows you have a treat for him.

He doesn’t mind if he’s family are away during the day, as long as he is allowed to cuddle when you’re home and get all your attention. He sometimes gives a little growl if you stop patting him, letting you know his complete displeasure that you have stopped, and he will forcibly back his butt up to you for more back and neck scratches.

SLEEPING

Van Diesel spends the evenings indoors with his foster family and then sleeps outside the back door. He may bark when first let outside but if he does, he quickly settles and goes back to sleep. We think this is just him applying about going outside.

SOCIALISATION

Van Diesel, what an attention seeker! He loves getting pats and rubs from anybody he meets, and will be on his best behaviour when meeting new people. He loves visiting friends and family (as long as there are no other doggies around him). He will walk fine on leash around dogs but no face to face time, as we have seen some dog reactive behaviours from him when sniffing other dogs but on walks he has been fine ans not payed attention to others

TRAVEL/CAR

Another one of Van Diesel’s favourite activities. He adores jumping in the car - whether it’s to the vets or for a road trip, he wants to go where you’re going and is a good boy the whole drive. We would love to see him go to a new home that take car trips as he loves the car.

MEDICAL

When Van Diesel arrived he had a large tumor on his backside . This was a Mast Cell tumor but this has now been removed with clear margins do he is all clear

IDEAL HOME:

Van Diesel would be best suited to a home where he is the only dog, and there isn’t interaction through friends/family dogs as he has shown some signs of being dog reactive. For this reason we want to see him safe and comfortable as an only dog.

He will need to be allowed inside and around his new family (following you like a shadow no doubt), and would benefit from evenings with you inside. Indoor/outdoor access would be perfect for him, otherwise somebody at home to attend to him when he wants to come in/out.

Van Diesel has not been tested with other pets or small children, however recommend his forever home have older children to teenagers.

Adoption criteria:

Must be allowed inside and have access to yard for toileting
Medium size yard as he does love to run and play with his family
Must be willing to take him on a daily walk
No others dogs in residence
Children would be fine but we are seeking older mature kids is in residence
A home where he is not left alone for extended hours of the day
