About Ingram
Ingram is one of Indigo's litter of 9 pups who came with their mother when they were about 3 weeks old. The owner did not have the time to care for them all as she worked full time as a nurse in aged care. Indigo was struggling to feed them all as well and was not getting enough nutritious food herself. the owner contacted Happy Paws for help as Indigo was fighting the pups for food. WE said we would take the pups with their mother and she could adopt her back after the pups were ready at 10-12 weeks and Indigo was desexed so that she did not go home and get pregnant again. All the pups survived and are in great condition. They are typical mischievous friendly playful naughty pups that will need training as all young children do. Ingram has been returned through no fault of his own. The owners youngest daughter is on the Spectrum and is having significant issues which the owner thought may have repercussions on the development of Ingram and he might get harmed. It broke her heart to give him back but she felt it was best for him in the longer term.
Adoption details
HappyPaws Haven is fussy about who adopts these animals and where they are housed and cared for. The adoption criteria is documented as a questionnaire and strictly adhered to. We do not adopt animals to people who rent unless they are long term rental at the same address and have landlords written permission.
We ask if they have thought about the attributes they want in a dog, lifestyle, childrens ages, prepared to train, etc. We also talk about responsible pet ownership, fully fenced yards, hours unattended etc. and finally a vet reference.
