About Leo
Leo is the sweetest boy
He is fantastic around cats, not interested in them at all. He loves to lay down on the floor next to the humans bed, but equally will sleep in his crate with his big fluffy bed.
Leo does not jump on the bed or couch without permission and will wait for his human to walk through a door first. He walks loosely on a lead and listens to instruction well.
In just a few weeks Leo has learnt that life doesn’t need to be fearful and he is making calm friends in daycare. Leo struggles initially when meeting new humans.
Leo needs to learn to trust. That will come from his new owner providing him with clear boundaries. He needs firm, calm reassuring guidance. He must not be allowed to take control of a potential threatening situation.
In his foster family he has become the most happy easygoing boy, we get smiles and waggles and it makes our day.
Leo’s new owner must be a confident canine handler. Our boy suffers low level separation anxiety but we’ve been working on building his resilience and he has come such a long way in a short time.
Leo really needs guidance and support when meeting new people and new dogs. You can see in the videos that Leo will quite happily accept other dogs in his space he just needs his human to let him know it’s ok and that they have his back.
If you believe Leo is the boy to receive your love, please email us and we will give him the chance to see if your right!

6.) A yard check will need to be conducted at your home.
7.) Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. 8.) The adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
9.) During the 2 week trial period, we encourage you to follow all our instructions to ensure the dog settles into your family structure
10.) If during the trail period you should need any assistance or you decide that this dog is not for you, you are encouraged to contact our state adoptions coordinator ASAP. (The more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available.)
Please note if the decision is made for you to return the dog your payment will be refunded to you in full, within 5 business days of the return of the dog.
**PLEASE NOTE: WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US BEFORE FILLING IN OUR ONLINE ADOPTION FORM**. Please email us on farmdogzrescueinc@gmail.com to request an adoption form.
We only consider applicants that have completed our adoption application form. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
