Please meet PHOENIX of the Star Litter, nine gorgeous kelpie mix pups born on 19 October 2021.

Orion's beautiful mum is Koda, a tricolour kelpie, but we have no information on her father, though we guess he's an Aussie working dog of some description.

Kelpies can make great family pets, loyal companions and excellent watchdogs, though they are not aggressive by nature. They have an exceptionally high IQ.

The secret to bringing the best out in a kelpie is to keep him occupied and well loved.
A kelpie's greatest joy is the love and attention of an active owner or family, while his greatest disappointment is inactivity and lack of attention.

Kelpies are eager to please and extremely loyal. Wherever their humans are, that's where they'll be too - whether that's out in a boat, in the back of a car, going for a walk, training for agility competitions or herding, or just watching television in the evening.

To be happy and content, Phoenix will need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation. Secure fencing is a must. He is not suited to full-time workers. Because kelpie puppies can be very exuberant, they may not be suitable companions for young very children.

Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and there is another compatible dog for Phoenix to play with. Prior experience with kelpies or other Aussie working dog breeds will be highly regarded. As always, secure fencing is essential.

His adoption fee is $850 and he will be desexed, vaccinated and microchipped when age appropriate and prior to adoption.
