About Daisy
Daisy is incredibly loving and affectionate. She looks adoringly into your eyes and wants to be cuddled, stroked and hugged as much as you have to give. Although she would prefer to be on your lap, she's also happy to sit quietly beside you on the couch. She is very playful, loves tug of war, enjoys fetch and is quite a character at times. She has a funny quirk of grabbing her favourite toy in her mouth and running to you to greet you with it when you come home. She has a brown "blanky" and a yellow "ducky" which are her favourites, although if she can't find these quickly enough, an empty toilet roll will suffice. She enjoys roughing up one of her beds and likes to sleep on the other. She is able to stand on her hind legs balancing for quite a while if there is something worth balancing for! Daisy LOVES to run REALLY FAST. She needs ample time off lead in a large area to run her little heart out and exercise those legs! If I go walking through a public garden she will run off, chase birds, then come back to me, then run off again. This is her favourite exercise. Her other favourite exercise is chasing the squirting hose. She will attempt to eat the water, gets totally sopping wet and will literally chew the nozzle if I leave it within reach. Sprinklers are the best! In her previous life she was fed from the table, so she will spend time underneath at meal times hoping for a tid bit … but is quite good at staying on her bed if I ask her to. Daisy is incredibly intelligent and follows instructions really well like "sit" and "on your bed" but she won't stay if I go to leave the room. Daisy has acute separation anxiety. She does not like being left alone and will cry and bark when I leave, run to whichever window she can see me leave from and be upset for a while before settling down for me to come home. She follows me EVERYWHERE around the house, but is quick at getting out of the way so doesn't get under my feet. She is a good car traveller, and funnily enough is quite happy to sit in the car while I'm in the grocery store. She loves ALL people and as she gets to know them will show them how much she loves them by grabbing her favourite toy when they visit as her special greeting. She likes other dogs, is a bit shy at first, doesn't mind too much meeting them, happy if they ignore her as well. She would suit a home with another small playful dog. Daisy is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets, she will chase them and this has not been able to be stopped by her previous owner. I live on a rural property and have discovered Daisy has VERY HIGH PREY DRIVE. She will chase anything on two or four legs with fur or feathers, no matter their size, including horses, sheep, peacocks, all birds, rats, chickens, ducks, kangaroos and skinks. She will attack a snake if she sees one. She will not be suited to a home with any of the above. She is great with older primary school aged kids, absolutely loves to play with them, but younger kids would not be ideal due to her small size and the potential for her to be dropped. Daisy sleeps on my bed, on a blanket and under a blanket. She would sleep under my doona if I let her. She burrows under her blanket to keep warm, she does not like to be cold. She is very cute as she also likes oxygen, so she burrows around until just the tip of her nose is poking out. She is toilet trained, although her signals to go out are not overt, she will quietly wait by the door until you notice. She easily holds on all night, when I let her out in the morning she will toilet then come straight back in and go back to bed if she can! Daisy needs a daily walk preferably two! An outdoor space would be ideal as she loves to be outside. She is a BRILLIANT guard dog… she will bark at the sound of people's voices, car doors, etc. She has acute hearing so these noises can be quiet and she will bark when she hears them. This barking can continue for a minute, although somewhat muffled, if you try to quiet her. If there
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of adoption fee. Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
