Rocky

Hi! My name is Rocky and I am the sweetest, character filled little man who loves cuddles and being with my humans as often as possible. I am obviously very cute and cuddly, but I will need a specific type of home to be my happiest. In my previous home I was very obviously a lap dog or lived with someone who was home more often than not. When my humans are around, I am happy and content to just be near you for a cuddle or just near you where I can see you (preferably on the couch or bed). My foster family has been working on leaving me for periods of time since they have to work, and I seem to be ok. However, when someone else came to babysit me for a bit I whined and cried most of the time. This also happened when my foster family first came to pick me up, but it only took a few days filled with cuddles and play time before I settled and bonded with my foster family.

I have some stomach issues, but this is managed very easily by just making sure I have my prescription canned wet food.

I would definitely suit being an only dog as I love my humans so much. So far, I have had a mixture of being nervous to meet some dogs and excited and happy to meet other dogs. So, if you have other dogs, a meet and greet is essential to see if we get on well.

When I am anxious, I do whine quite a bit, shake and do cute little howls. However, most of the time I am happy and content. I am very well toilet trained and will only have an accident if I am busting. I can walk well most of the time on the lead but if something scares me or is unfamiliar, I will refuse to move or ask to be picked up. I am very well behaved for baths and grooming. I love to play a couple times a day but most of the day I am happy to just laze about. When I get excited I like to spin and jump around and my foster family thinks this is so cute.

Things I love: Soft beds, blankets, couches, carpet and rugs, squeaky toys, soft toys and chasing after a ball (I don’t bring it back though), zoomies in the backyard once or twice a day, sleeping most of the day, meeting new friends, spinning and dancing, cuddles and being near my humans.

Things I don’t love: Being away from my favourite people, very loud noises, wooden floors – I’m getting better with them at my foster family’s house though, long grass, when the car stops and we don’t get out quickly enough.

Requirements for my new family:
1. Home more often than not or able to take me with you
2. Ability to pick me up for cuddles or when I am anxious
3. Let me go on the couch and bed
4. Take me to be groomed regularly
5. Able to only feed me my special food so I don’t get sick.
