About Stretch
If you’re looking for a little dog with big personality then stretch is your man. He is teeny tiny and draws lots of attention due to his handsome looks and pint size stature.
Stretch loves nothing more than cuddling up on his human’s lap and receiving endless pats and attention, which makes him a great working from home buddy. Stretch is not great left on his own so will need someone home most of the time.
He came from rural nsw so is still getting used to the hustle and bustle of Sydney life. He will need an experienced handler to help him continue to navigate suburban life. He is not for first time dog owners or inner city living.
This boy loves road trips and will sleep peacefully in his crate. He loves getting out and about on many walks and has even ventured to the beach. He loves attention out and about but can sometimes be a bit shy with strange men. He is now crate trained and has some basic training but definitely needs work in the toilet training area.
Stretch is learning how to be a social boy out and about. He sometimes loves playing with other dogs but sometimes wants nothing to do with them and can be quite overwhelmed. His new owner must be prepared to continue his socialisation and advocate for him if he is feeling anxious. He is not suited to dog park situations and he will need to be an only dog at home.
Although he can be a cute and cuddly lap loving dog he does display some typical Dachshund traits like digging if he is not sufficiently physically and mentally stimulated. He will need a decent amount of appropriate exercise daily.
We are looking for a home without lots of stairs and definitely no cats or pocket pets! He is good with children but due to his small size we will be looking for a home with dog savvy children no younger than 10.
Stretch needs to be fed a high quality diet and be a mostly inside dog. He will need an owner who is financially able to accommodate potential medical issues that might arise when owning a Dachshund.
We are expecting to receive many applications for stretch so if you feel you are a good fit for our long boy, please fill in an application on our website and add in as much detail as you can about the type of home you can provide.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
