About Dave
APPLICATIONS CLOSED AT PRESENT DUE TO OVERWHELMING RESPONSE - 1.12.21
SORRY WE ARE UNABLE TO TRANSPORT OUR PUPS TO NEW HOMES BY PLANE.
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive socialisation with other people/dogs/puppies, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for a good part of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
Adoption fee will be advised on receipt of a completed SAFE application.
NAME: Dave
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound with his brother Dan.
BREED: Terrier X
BREED Traits: Terriers come in all shapes and sizes and were bred for different reasons but many were for farm work or ratting. Today they are mainly companions. Terriers are generally high energy, very bright and quick to learn but can be stubborn. They have strong personalities and a sense of fun and want to be included in everything you do. Don't take on a terrier unless you really do want a companion.
ASSETS: Easygoing, affectionate, friendly, sensitive, curious, quiet, sweet and playful! He’s a little quieter than his brother Dan but still has a huge personality.
ENERGY LEVEL: Dave is a typical pup at the moment requiring lots of play and interaction. As he grows he will need good daily exercise, and being part terrier he will be high energy with an active brain.
FAVOURITE THINGS: He enjoys chasing balls and playing with his brother. He also loves cuddle time with his human and is very affectionate.
ENDEARING FEATURES: He has a beautiful personality and is a complete delight to be around.
IDEAL HOME: Dave will need –
• a home where he is treated as part of the family and is allowed to be inside and out as he needs
• a decent sized garden where he can run and play, sniff and explore
• a dog- experienced family where someone is home for a good part of the day especially in the first six months after adoption
• attendance at puppy school and continued training into adulthood for him to learn and grow confidence
• continued positive exposure and socialisation
Dave could live with a dog savvy cat that will stand its ground as he may have the desire to chase so careful supervised introductions would be essential.
Dave would enjoy the company of dog savvy, respectful older children.
If Dave sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please fill in an enquiry and we will be in touch soon
