About Shyla

questionnaire. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Meet Shyla, an 11-month-old Maremma Sheepdog girl who is searching for a home with a
job! đđ
Shyla needs a breed experienced home that understands both the needs, quirks & temperament of her breed. Shyla has been transitioning from a pet home to a working home. She has tried the pet lifestyle and could go back to that but only with a male Maremma for company on a small acreage or hobby farm.
Shyla has been learning the ropes in care on a working property. She is doing best as a poultry guardian, but is currently learning the ropes with the sheep. Sheâd best suit a working property where she can continue to hone her livestock guardian instincts.
Shyla is a typical Maremma and does take time to warm up to strangers. Particularly to females, both human and dog. Typical of the breed, Shyla is a loyal girl who will stick close with her chosen humans. Like most Maremma dogs, she is aloof and will respond best when given due respect and boundaries. Shyla was housetrained but now happily sleeps outside.
We are searching for a home who understands the needs of working breeds. A home that can provide both physical & mental stimulation. If you think you can provide Shyla with her perfect forever home her foster dad would love to hear from you.
