Please note: Wombat (often called Bob) will be rehomed with another dog for company.
Wombat is a fun, energetic, clever boy. Wombat is house trained and uses a doggy door to make his outdoor visits. He has learned to drop, sit and fetch very quickly. He’s a very smart boy and eager to learn. He walks quite well on a loose lead but is a work in progress on greeting other dogs calmly. He’s very excited to make new friends and will pull on the lead and maybe bark to get the other dog’s attention. No aggression, just excited 6 month puppy eagerness. His foster carer says he’s improving each day.
Wombat would suit an active household. Currently he enjoys two x 30 minute walks and some backyard fetch/playtime in back yard. This burns up that puppy energy and he settles and sleeps. If he doesn’t get his exercise he can chew.
Wombat is an affectionate dog and enjoys a cuddle. He’s going to be a big boy, and does think he’s a lap dog. Also look at those ears! Many are unaware of the delight of a dog that ears bob up and down on walks, or look like wings flapping when they run. Wombat’s ears and his hipster wolfhound beard make him utterly adorable.
Wombat is a smart, affectionate dog who needs an active owner with a yard. Someone who will be able to continue in finishing off his training. Is that you? Lets get started on the application!

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
