PROFILE AND NEEDS IN A HOME

Chevy is a beautiful 3-year-old poodle x who is super sweet, gentle and loving once he settles in. At home, he can be very playful and fun in the morning and likes a good wrestle with a rope, toy, or sock. Chevy loves his home comforts and is looking for a home where he is welcome on the couch and to sleep in your bed where he is happiest. He is relaxed around family but he is still very nervous and wary of visitors in the home or people he meets out and about.

He is looking for a dedicated and patient family who will accept him for who he is and not try and make him conform to their idea of a 'normal' dog and help him build confidence in his own time. Chevy needs a calm and quiet adult-only home.

Chevy has had a rough start in life in a breeding setting and has very limited experience of the big wide world. He now walks well on the lead but is still easily scared of busy or noisy places so needs to walk away from main roads and busy streets. He has also started running, so would make a good 5k buddy for his new family. He’s definitely not suited to social adventures to the local pub or cafe.

He is currently in foster care with other dogs and needs another friendly small dog to play with and to help continue to build his confidence.

He is doing well with his toileting, but he still needs someone to take him out regularly to the garden to the toilet until he learns to go out independently as needed. Be prepared for occasional inside accidents to start.

He has a beautiful low shedding coat which will require regular grooming to keep him looking fabulous!
