ABOUT OBI
Obi ""one-eyed"" Kenobi is the amazing, funny, affectionate to the extreme, very socially awkward super-kitty of your dreams!
From a rough start to life, Obi has thrived in the care of LLs volunteers, and she has become a kitten with a personality so big it can be seen from outer space!!!
Obi was first rescued from a rural property where she was exposed to the elements, hunting dogs, other cats and had very little resources available. When she arrived to us she had an untreated eye injury so severe that her whole eye had to be removed, and she also tested positive for FIV at an exceptionally young age (see medical notes).
We took her in, cleaned her up, and had her almost ready for adoption. Then, cue ringworm! Miss Obi has been in social isolation for the last two months to treat a ringworm breakout - but now, she is all resolved and ready for her new home!
Obi has not once let her tragic backstory slow her down, and today she is a beautiful, bubbly, and perfect companion for a dedicated and experienced cat owner.
BEHAVIOUR NOTES
Obi has a few requirements for her new family, due to her special needs:
- A STRICTLY indoor home. Obi only has one eye, and she also has a condition which compromises her immune system. As such, Obi must be an indoor-only cat;
- LOTS of toys! Obi is high energy and can entertain herself for hours playing chase or soccer with her favourite toys. She also loves having lots of things to climb and explore;
- NO small children. Our special girl is very socially awkward, and she plays a bit rough for small kids. We think she would suit a home with pre-teen and older children just fine;
- PLENTY of attention. Obi is crazy about cuddles, and once she trusts you she will be all over you! Miss Obi doesn't mind other cats, but definitely likes to be the centre of attention. A patient (and vaccinated) second cat would be fine, but;
- No DOGS please, Obi has shown signs of extreme fear around big dogs, and she would prefer to go to a dog-free home.
If you're looking for a very unique and special Cat with personality in spades, look no further than Obi!!!
MEDICAL NOTES
- FIV is a condition that compromises the immune system of cats. It is not contagious to humans and does not affect the lifespan of a cat, but any second cat in the home should be Vaccinated or also an FIV + Cat, just in case.
- Obi is a ""pirate"" Kitty. That is, she only has one eye! Her left eye was removed to a suspected cat attack, but her wound has completely healed and her remaining eye is in good condition
- Ex-ringworm. Obi has been treated for the dreaded ringworm. Her vets have given her the all-clear, but we do request that any potential home sign a waiver that they understand she has previously had the condition.
If you have any questions about Obi's medical conditions, her foster carer will be happy to have a chat before a meet and greet : )
