About Frankie
Hi I’m Frankie, I am a gorgeous 8 year and 8 month old Maltese.
I’m on the hunt for my forever home where the people will love me like I love them.
My foster mum says I have to be up front and tell you my quirks first so that if I don’t suit your home / lifestyle you won’t need to keep reading my bio.
I suffer from anxiety and therefore it’s super important that my dream home would be with someone who either works from home or doesn't work and is a home body. Somebody who can also work with me on this would be great and especially If you can incorporate me into your life and take me a lot of places with you. I am currently on medication which helps.
I am happy to go outside and have a sniff and do my thing but I don't like being left outside for hours at a time - I am a inside / outside boy who can wander around with his humans or go outside if I want.
I am not good on acreage fencing - I did work out pretty quickly that i could just walk thru the fencing - I would do a quick run down the road and then be kind of like yep okay not sure what to do now but I do want a human to come pick me up and carry me back.......... but I'm fine with normal suburban fencing so the rescue will want to double check that the fencing is suitable for me (this only occurs if I'm left alone unattended in the backyard if you have gone out).
I am still working on being a big boy when new people arrive - I can either be all over you saying hi or aloof and need you to be patient when meeting me.
I am very stressed when storms come thru but if i have someone with me then I'm pretty good.
Phew so now that all the 'quirks' are out the way I can give you some 'yeahs'.... I am great with kids - i am used to them and enjoy hanging out with them.
I’m looking for a person who can plan time daily for chest scratches – it’s super important and something I will need to remind you of if you forget!
I love to go outside when I want to investigate the back yard and then come back inside to watch TV – my life is pretty complicated that way!
I am toilet trained.
I am currently in foster care with another dog, she is bigger then me and she is great – she is not in my face and she does her thing and I do mine. I meet a couple of other dogs when i came into care and I was okay around them but that is cause they were calm and not in my face..... Really energetic dogs or dogs that will not give me a chance to breathe are not for me - I will do a growl and then try and hide. I am not aggressive but but I do like a calm life with there is other dogs in the home - I do prefer to have human company over other fur siblings.
I have not been around cats and my foster family thinks it could go either way – if they run I might chase them.
I do sleep on my foster mum’s bed and this is something I would like to continue with – I mean just think we can snuggle on the couch and then snuggle in bed together.
I have a coat that does require grooming. I have already had a couple of professional grooms which didn’t faze me at all. The groomer did tell my foster mum that I need to continue going to a groomer so that my coat stays looking good & not matted so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.
** Please note applications will close Tuesday 30th November 2021 at 5.30pm

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
