About Stitch
Hello out there, big wild world. I’m Stitch and I’m a loving bundle of long legs and gentle leans.
My foster family has been teaching me the ropes and watching my gentle, affectionate nature grow. I’ve definitely made myself comfortable, loving a nap on the couch, making a cosy little nest to nap in while my humans sleep. I’m pretty playful, love meeting other doggos and sometimes I cant contain my excitement when humans awake and come to see me – I zoom all over the place, in circles, wagging my long tail and giving snuggles and nudges!
I’m pretty keen on 2 walks a day, little short ones or longer ones. I’m alright with older kiddos, but might be a bit bouncy for the smaller ones. I’d definitely love a doggo friend to keep me company, or a busy household with people about to give me lots of pets and love.
I’m not cat friendly, and I struggle with stairs. I definitely need some patient humans to teach me a few things in house-living life.
I’m excited to meet you and bring you all the joy I have to give, leaving you in.. stitches (but only the good kind).
Summary:
- Requires home where people are home more often than not (part time workers or WFH) OR a home with another dog for companionship
- NOT cat friendly
- NO children under 10 years of age
Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
Click 'Enquire about this pet' to contact us or email us at adoptions@greytgreys.org to express interest in the hound that you are looking at. We'll send you an EOI form, this must be returned before proceeding.
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $350.00 and must be paid on on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
