Axel ~ 7mo Staffy X(Adoption Pend. 30/12/21)

Axel is an adorable 7 month old Staffy x, with a loving nature. He enjoys all the cuddles and attention you can give him, always preferring to follow his foster carers around if he can, but is also very independent with his play and enjoys chewing on his toys for hours at a time, or lying in the sun. He is a sweet, doting little guy, with so much to offer.

Axel is an intelligent boy, and is currently learning how to behave on the lead, to stay and to sit. He has not had much formal training before coming into foster care, but is keen to please, treat motivated whilst undistracted at home, and is learning quickly with consistent training with his foster carers. As he is still young, he has lots of energy, and is currently walking morning and afternoon with his foster family, so he will suit an active family.
Axel is fully toilet trained and is being crate trained in foster care, where he currently sleeps inside a crate throughout the night, without a sound. For his age, Axel is an incredibly well adjusted, and relaxed pup.

He spends most of his time outside during the day, but is most happy when let inside with his people, so we would like him to go where he is welcomed inside and can be involved in his new family’s life. He is also learning not to jump and nip when playing excitedly, despite being a gentle boy. This will be something his forever family will need to be confident with continuing to train, and we think it would be best if Axel went to a home where children were older than eight.

Axel currently has no "animal siblings" but has previously lived with dogs and is very dog friendly. He can be too much for some dogs though, with his playful nature, and hasn’t learnt to pick up on the queues that the other dog wants to stop playing, so we will organise a meet and greet with a potential family's dog before progressing. Axel will require a secure, sizeable, fenced yard to be at his happiest, with no holes or gaps. Unfortunately, rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire) is not suitable.
Axel has not been tested with pocket pets, livestock or chickens/birds.

Axel is a happy, loving pup, with so much happiness to bring into your life. He is in need of a home that will dedicate time to his training, and there is no doubt you'll be rewarded with a loyal, goofy little best friend.

Axel's adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
