About Isla
Heeler X Staffy mix
Isla is a very intelligent loving dog and responds well to praise, pats and is also food motivated. She has an abundance of energy and enjoys obedience training to keep her mind active. Isla was a community dog before coming into care so learning to be a domestic pet is her greatest challenge. Isla has learnt sit, drop and stay. Isla comes with the bonus of being house trained she will use a dog door with ease and happy to keep snoozing (snoring) in her crate until her foster family is up and ready for the day before she goes out to toilet and play.
Isla can be highly active and needs to be kept busy when not smooching up next to you pretending to be a couch potato. Stimulation for her mind is essential, puzzles and Kongs, sniffing games are great fun too. Her current training plan has a focus on being able to stop running wild and self-soothe to assist her learning to be a domestic animal.
Isla can get super excited and jump all over you to demand play or smooches and snuggles. Isla is crate trained and chooses to go chill out in her space when everything is a little crazy.
Isla has a love of learning and will look for new challenges at every opportunity.
Isla has soooo much love to give you that she overwhelms herself. Kisses and cuddles are her favourite times.
Isla loves playing with other animals. She has shown minimal prey drive towards the bird and cats she lives with.
Isla runs at full speed but isn't always great at stopping so for this reason a home with small or vulnerable children is not recommended. Any children in her forever home will also have to be highly committed to her obedience training. It's in Isla's best interest to have consistency of rules and expectations from every member of her home.
A condition of our adoption agreement is that all dogs adopted from Chally MUST be put through obedience training, if you cannot meet this commitment please do not apply. All our dogs deserve the chance to be the very best they can be, and we will choose homes that will ensure this is the case.

** Only applications submitted via this link will be considered **
Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
