About Jackson
Jackson is tall, dark and handsome and likes to showcase that on his walks two or three times a day.
In the home he is relaxed in your company and will move everywhere with you, wherever his people are he will nest. Jackson would most certainly prefer a home where his human is home a lot or there is a suitable canine companion. He’s an emotional boy this one – long cuddles are a must.
Jackson is smart and responsive to training - no getting on the human beds - and has learnt to walk well on the lead after plenty of initial zig zagging, deals with the hustle and bustle of the streets and traffic like a pro although some loud noises have startled him. Jackson makes a great first impression, calm and happy around new people and in new spaces. He is likely to be a good adventurer, loves a car ride and does the classic head out the window watching the world go by.
Adopters would need to continue socialising Jackson, he has seen a few dogs on his walks and dealt with some unwanted interactions in a calm manner.
Jackson would like it known he is unsuccessful but persistent at catching flies, enjoys a puppaccino, a couple of chunks of parmesan and scratches under his left ear so his leg twitches.
Jackson is looking forward to nuzzles and leaning on his forever humans.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
