Hooch is fun loving pup who wants to be with you and shadow your every move, curiously following you around the house to see what you are up to. He greets all human visitors at the front door with a sense of joy and happiness – he is a pup so he does jump a little but calms down pretty quick and knows pats happen once he settles.
His foster mum works from home, but Hooch is capable of spending short periods time outside as long as he is stimulated and exercised, otherwise you will risk coming home to some backyard makeovers!
Hooch is toilet trained with no accidents in the house and he will let you know if he needs to go outside. He sleeps from about 9:30pm to 7am, where he will greet you with a wag and lick in the morning before heading outside to do his business. Hooch has multiple naps throughout the day, either by his foster mums side whilst she works from home or out in the sun in the backyard.
Hooch would benefit from a big backyard where he can do zoomies and play fetch with plenty of room.
Hooch is walked once a day and from what we can tell has never worn a lead until coming to his foster family. He is learning to walk on a lead and there has been improvement in the short time spent in our family. It would be ideal for Hooch to continue with some formal training as he is a super smart boy who is learning to behave on the lead and to sit, drop and stay on command.
Hooch has not been tested with cats so unsure how he would be, but as he was not socialize with other dogs as a young pup and from what we know may have had bad experiences with dogs when younger, he would benefit from trained and experience socialization techniques to learn manners on how to act around other dogs. He has met our neighbour dog and there was no aggression, Hooch just needs to learn his manners, which I’m confident he could do!
He is an excellent eater, who as a pup has two meals a day, and enjoys his treats when playing with his Kong or learning basic commands.
Hooch loves a ride in the car and is a little excited as first before settling in nicely to see what adventure he is going on next.
Whilst Hooch is friendly to everyone he has met, either on walks or when visiting our house, he sometimes does not realize that he is a big boy and can be too bouncy for small children with his initial greeting. For this reason, it is best that he lives in a house with older children.
Hooch is a beautiful, loving dog who with some training, ample daily exercise and experience handler will make a wonderful pet.
