About Herbie
Meet our loving, playful, energetic boy “Herbie”. He is a such a happy and clever boy who LOVES to be kept busy with physical and mental stimulation.
Herbie came from a rural pound with no past history provided, he was listed as a “Mixed breed”. We are not 100% on what breeds he has in him but believe he does have some signs and the smarts of a cattle dog. We have sent away for a DNA test and will provide his new family with the findings when received. He is a small/large or large/med size dog.
Herbie will thrive in a home that will put the time into him he deserves and we will except nothing less for this gorgeous boy. He is very food motivated which is great for training him. He knows how to sit, drop, wait, leave it, he is crate trained and basically house trained.
You will need to have a large yard with good fencing (colorbond preferred) as he can jump if left in the yard and bored. Herbie would love to go on lots of adventures like camping or hiking and would also love to do agility or the likes.
Herbie loves other dogs, is not aggressive to cats (but will chase to play) is best suited to older children. If you have another dog they will need to be playful and energetic so they can keep up with his play level so he doesn’t annoy them.
A condition of our adoption agreement is that all dogs adopted from Chally MUST be put through obedience training, if you cannot meet this commitment please do not apply. All our dogs deserve the chance to be the very best they can be, and we will choose homes that will ensure this is the case.
IF YOU CAN TICK ALL THE BELOW BOXES, PLEASE POP IN AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR US TO CONSIDER.
• You have a large secure yard.
• Herbie will not be alone more than 4hrs.
• You will allow Herbie to be part of the family and allow him access to indoors.
• You WILL enroll him in obedience training.
• You WILL provide him with daily exercise AND mental stimulation.
Applications with extensive details on the lifestyle you will offer including FULL details on mental and physical stimulation you intend to provide will be considered. You will also need to include details on the obedience club you will be attending. PLEASE NOTE: if you provide basic details only, we will not process your application, nor will you receive any further communications.
Adoption details
All forms (including foster and adoption) can be found at the following link:
http://www.challyanimalrescue.org.au/adopt.php
** Only applications submitted via this link will be considered **
Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
