Requirements:
✅A thorough understanding or experience owning a deaf dog and a commitment to providing training with hand signals
✅ A medium to large dog playmate
✅ A predictable and calm home environment with older children (12+) if any
✅ Owner that is home more often than not

Bianca is a quirky, hilarious little character, affectionately nicknamed Piggy for her snorting and small robust build.

Her most famous quirks include:

🐶 Being very talkative - she’ll often whine and huff at you when you aren’t paying her attention.

🐶 Her tap dancing and 360 degree spins when she’s excited… particularly around meal times.

🐶 being sight reliant, she has a love-hate relationship with the TV. She will sit up and watch dog shows intently but she dislikes close up human faces and will huff at them in an unsure manner and run off to her bed if they are on the screen too long and if you aren’t sitting with her.

🐶 She hasn’t quite grasped the concept of a reflection and will often try to get the cute white dog in the window to play.

🐶 She also looks at her carer through many sorts of reflective surfaces and wags her tail at the ‘new’ lady.

You will never be alone again as Bianca will be your shadow, following you from room to room. Being deaf, she’s a little timid with new things so building her trust is key. She hasn’t had much exposure to the outside world so you’ll need to go at her pace. For her own safety, she can never be allowed off lead in public. She also doesn’t do well in the heat so would need an indoor lifestyle with access to the outdoors.

She is intelligent and treat motivated, making her a good student. Eg: she learnt a hand signal for sit within minutes and even adheres to it most of the time! Anyone with a bulldog will know the stubbornness is part of their charm.

She loves other dogs and is very playful with them, her new fur sibling will need to be patient of her playful advances. Her favourite game is trying to steal anything her foster fur brother has, so your resident dog needs to be happy to share their possessions. Once she has stolen it and run off, she drops it and the game starts again.

She would do best with a well-mannered, playful medium to large playmate as she throws her pudgy little body around when she’s really excited and needs a good role model as she copies other dogs and will rely on them more than the average dog. Couch and bed wrestles are also a favourite so house proud parents need not apply.

She is used to having humans around more often than not so would not be suitable for full time workers. If she’s left inside with another dog for company, she will settle for a few hours after some initial whining.
