About Penny
You have the extreme pleasure of meeting Penny who is a 9 month old kelpie crossed with (we deduce) a stumpy tail cattle dog. She has a very sweet nature and she is very affectionate.
Penny is smooth haired she is black with a mottled tan on her face and feet. Typical of the kelpie she has a tan coloured undercoat on her back. Penny is an absolute delight to walk on the leash, she will walk quite happily at your pace with a slack leash. Because of her Kelpie genes Penny does display some herding instincts. Being a working breed, she will need daily mental and physical stimulation.
Penny is suited to living in a suburban block or on an acreage. She gets on very well with other dogs and will play for hours, so she would be happy living with another dog in the household. Her new home would be best if someone is home with her most of the day although is happy to be left at home for a couple of hours.
Penny has a very sweet disposition, she is very affectionate and she has very good recall. Penny loves people, she wags her tail and begs attention when she meets people on her walks. She is very friendly with other dogs and would be suited to a permanent home with another dog. She shows no tendency to jump fences but if she can find a gap in a fence she will squeeze through to greet someone walking in the street or sniff the neighbourâs front yards. Penny weighs 18kg and she is the height of a normal kelpie. Penny loves to snuggle up to you when you are sitting on the couch
She has been house trained and can use a doggie door to go in and out to do her business. She has had recall training and her recall is now very good. She is undergoing training to stop jumping up when she encounters people. She is learning to chase a ball and retrieve it.
Lots of wags from her stumpy tail and she would love to go home with you!
