About Maple
Maple certainly has the looks. Those adorable short legs, that racoon like tail and a beautiful colour mix. But there is far more to Maple than meets the eye.
Please read on before considering if you are suitable for Maple...
Maple missed out on very important socialisation from a young age and spent the first part of her life living with many other cats with very minimal interaction from humans. So once in the shelter it was discovered she was going to need some intense rehabilitation to help her adjust to a 'normal' pet life. Maple was sent to a foster home where a strict program was followed to help settle her in and help her discover that people aren't so bad. It took a lot of time, patience and gentle encouragement with her foster carers, as well as assistance living with other social cats to help show her the way. Maple settled in amazingly in her foster home but it took a long time.
If you are considering Maple you must understand she is going to be extremely fearful in the home to begin with. The change will set her backwards so it will be baby steps to build her back up again.
Maple will need to be a calm and quite adult only home with at least 1 other social cat, as Maple really relies on them to help her feel safe and confident. A small respectful dog could be considered.
Maple will be a bit of a project for someone. But please know once settled she is a beautiful, loving girl. She will LOVE to play chasings with wand toys (feathery ones are her favourite). She gets to places you wouldn't think her little legs would allow and she can be quite chatty and talkative at times.
