About Padfoot
Current Weight 10 kilos
Sweet, Intelligent, with a side of Devil, Padfoot is an amazing little character which will keep you on your toes, laughing at his antics, while also trying to guess what his next move might be. Padfoot can also be what you might call on occasions an absolute little brat, some of this behaviour is pretending to be Tarzan and trying to swing from your ponytail or other dogs ears, rearranging furniture, digging grave size holes in the backyard. Now don't let this behaviour put you off, he has calmed down quite a lot. He has gone from being maybe a tornado size wrecking ball, to a storm wrecking ball. Padfoot is also extremely intelligent and 90% of his issue is that he has never been trained. While in my care he has learnt to sit, drop and is learning to stay. Which he has learnt to do very quickly. If anything too quickly. Padfoot loves the idea of getting treats for learning new things and after practicing when treats go away, he tends to not understand and will continue to show you his new skill that he has mastered and will wait for his treat after showing you. This is when we have rewarded his new skill behaviour with a pat and a good boy, which of course little Padfoot has on occasion, not been impressed by and has decided that's when he should be mouthy and maybe try and see if we taste as good as a treat. Now if you have managed to read all the negatives and get to this part without running let me tell you about the amazing parts of Padfoot. He loves to lay on your lap and go to sleep and receive pats, he is gentle with older people and younger kids, always has a smile on his face, very dog social, loves affection and is easy to train. Padfood just needs the right person who is willing to put in the time and effort to put him into training and love him.SleepPadfoot loves to curl up next to me and go to sleep on the bed. On most nights he sleeps through the night from 9pm until 9am. During the day he tends to either lay out in the sun or curl up next to one of the other dogs and sleep.Walking/training/toiletingPadfoot is not yet fully vaccinated so we have been practising lead training in the front yard. Padfoot has no issues being on a lead, he does not lack confidence and is happy to greet all strangers that walk past. Once fully vaccinated Padfoot will need to go for daily walks. Short walks to begin with as he is still a puppy.Padfoot is going extremely well with his toileting but on occasions has some accidents inside. However I would say he is 95% toilet trained. However in a new home he will need ongoing encouragement to go outside until he is used to his new surroundings. Encourage Padfoot to go to the toilet as soon as he wakes up from a sleep or nap.Padfoot can sit and drop and is learning to stay. Padfoot does not like the word no. Padfoot is extremely easy to train as he is food oriented and extremely intelligent. It will be extremely important that Padfoot is put into training as soon as possible as he will need ongoing training and for socialising.ChildrenPadfoot is currently in a home with teenage children. Which he adores. He loves to terrorise them frequently. He tries to hang from their bagging clothes as they walk past, but also loves to go to them for a cuddle and a pat.Dogs/CatsPadfoot has not been tested with cats. Padfoot is currently living with 4 other foster dogs of all different sizes. Due to Padfoot being in a home with so many other dogs and loving the attention, we think it's best that he be rehomed with another dog. This dog must be female, as we do not rehome to same sex dogs.TravelPadfootLoves going on car trips and sits very well in the car using a dog car seat buckle. Adoption Requirements- A decent backyard with a grass area and secure fences.- We are mainly seeking a home with another dog for Padfoot, resident dog must be female medium to large size. She must be well socialised with other dogs ( do not apply if your dog has not been sociali
