Hi! I'm Chief and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.

What I need in my new home:
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I LOVE other dogs but due to my age and arthritis I will need a doggy playmate would Who isn't full on.
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household
• Short regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• A family that will love and care for me during my twilight years

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase

My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk well on lead
• Happy to hang out with other dogs
• Well mannered
• Love to snooze on the couch

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I walk well on lead, unless I want to go in another direction, then I tend to pull harder

Medical
• I have been diagnosed with arthritis which will require me to be on medication for the rest of my life to ensure I'm always feeling comfortable.

AN ADOPTION CAN'T BE APPROVED IF YOU HAVE CANNOT COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET CHIEF IN PERSON.

ANY EXISTING DOGS AT HOME MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET CHIEF BEFORE AN ADOPTION CAN BE APPROVED
