About Maxi ~ 1yr old Kelpie X (On Trial 28/11/21)
Meet Maxi, an extraordinary clever boy! Maxi loves cuddles, going for walks and playing fetch. Since coming into care with us, Maxi has learnt to sit, stay (some of the time), fetch a tennis ball and has decent recall. Maxi knows he is not to come inside our house and happily sits on the threshold.
Maxi hasn’t had a lot of experience walking on a leash, but after the initial excitement and a good sniff he will walk beside you quite well. Maxi gets excited when he meets new people/dogs and tends to jump up - this is being discouraged and will need to be worked on at his forever home. Maxi currently sleeps outside on his bed, but sometimes comes and sits inside with us if cold, raining or while watching TV.
Maxi’s forever family will need an active lifestyle and understand that he needs daily exercise and mental stimulation to prevent him getting bored and chewing. Maxi gets along really well with other dogs and would ideally be placed in a home with another dog to keep him company if his new family are full time workers.
Maxi has met some children aged 6 plus and was fine although very energetic and excited – younger children may find him too much. Maxi hasn’t tried to jump any fences, however if there are any gaps/opportunities to dig, he may be tempted to escape and explore the neighborhood.
For more information on Maxi, please contact his foster carer on elliesnailes@outlook.com Maxi is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Maxi’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Maxi, please fill out the adoption application form https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
