Africa is a sweet young boy who will bring you lots of enjoyment.
He has come a long way since being in care. He will take awhile to relax in a new enviroment and would be best not left alone until he has time to adjust.
He likes to be close to his humans and canine friend at all times.
Africa is a vocal boy, who will let you know if he wants your attention, the attention of his canine companion.
For this reason he is best suited to a home with someone home most of the time and access to inside the home.
He is getting better at being given alone time outside, but this is still a work in progress.
He is toilet trained.
Has learnt to wait for his food, although it does take a minute or two to get him to stay still.. He does eat fast, so best to be feed in a slow feeder.
He is very food motivated. He has learnt to go to his crate to get his treats.
He is becoming more comfortable with the crate and will often go in to play, sit in there looking out the window, and will wait in there if i go out. But as long as you don't close the door, otherwise he will become quite destressed, even if you are in the room.
Africa loves to play with all toys, and must have lots to play with. He is best suited to a house with a companion dog that matches his energy and want to play, to help burn off some of that excitement, anything else will only frustrate him and he will spend his time barking at them to play. Otherwise as a young pup still he might become destructive if he cant burn off his energy with play.
Africa loves his walks and enjoys meeting everyone. He is strong on lead. Currently walked on a harness, but might be better if trained with a Halti, or just some more training. He is a smart boy and currently learning to sit curbs and be patient
Africa is still learning how to play and can sometimes be a little snappy, which has got better and will improve, but for this reason currently he is suited to a home with older children.
Africa is currently on medication for skin allergies, which is quite common for dogs this time of year and for Staffy breeds. We are unsure if this will be an ongoing issue, but this is something that his new owner will need to be aware of.
Africa is an absolute sweetie and has lots of love to give to the right family. He often makes me laugh with his playfulness and is definitely coming out of his shell.
He needs a home the understand he is still a pup and has a lot to learn and experience and will only thrive with owners the continue training and allow him time to grow.
Oh side note he is a snorer and likes to fart.
