About Bear
Poor little Bear has spent his whole life in an awful back yard breeding set-up.
He came into care when his owners no longer wanted him.
He arrived one of the most timid dogs I have seen. Absolutely terrified of everything, and has needed lots of time on his own terms, to de-stress, mostly under a chair on the verandah.
Fast forward to the Bear we have now! This little fella now greets me with tail wags and twirls, who will happily allow pats and is relaxed enough to have cuddles in front of the TV.
Bear has gone from only eating small amounts when completely alone to now loving his tucker with all the other dogs here.
He has gone from screaming in fear when the leash was put on, to now happily going out for a walk on-leash.
He is now toilet trained, toilets outside, or on a puppy pad indoors (if he can’t get outside)
Poor boy has obviously battled with fleas for a long time, but we clipped him, gave him a flea treatment and some medicated baths, and no scratching has meant his skin has recovered nicely.
Bear is still a little wary of men, but is getting better now he realises they mean him no harm.
He needs a forever home where he can continue to try new experiences. A home where his family will be patient and loving, but will continue to gently push him through his fears (he ADORES treats - and they help immensely)
PLEASE NOTE - we are located in Moree, northern NSW and you will need to drive to collect Bear if you are the successful adopter. He travels well.
Please tell us as much as possible about your household and the life you could offer Bear.
We also need to know the following:
1) Are all in your household happy to adopt Bear and willing to work with him so he can live his best life?
2)Can you drive to Moree to collect him?
3)Do you have Landlords permission if you need it to have a dog?
4) How long would Bear be alone during the day if at all?
