About Barra
Handsome Barra is now on the look out for a new place to call home. This stunning young fella has the world at his paws, he just needs a special human to help him out. While in care Barra has been learning how to interact and play with other dogs better. Barra would best suit an only dog home, however it is important to make sure he keeps correctly socialising with other dogs.
He loves playing with balls and can play fetch for ages, he’s learning to bring the ball to your feet currently and is getting closer each time.
Barra is a smart boy and works well for food, he will sit and wait for his meal’s and enjoys a treat each time he goes in his crate. He is willing to go straight to his crate now as he knows he will get a treat once the door is shut. Barra does pull a little when walking but is getting better with every walk.
A no cat, small dog or pocket pets home is required as Barra has shown too much interest in them and tries to chase them.
Barra will benefit from someone who can put the training into him and help him reach his full potential. A firm but guiding hand will help keep him on the right track to success, time and patience’s is all he asks for.
He is good around children (always supervised as he can be bouncy around younger children) an older child home would be great as he does love a cuddle and some attention.

If you are interested in finding out more about the dogs we have in care, please go to our website at http://www.dustypawsdogrescue.com/adopt and fill in an adoption form.
* Please note, this is not a contract or agreement of any kind, only expression of interest in our dog. We will not conduct any meet and greets unless this form has been filled out and submitted for review. Only approved applicants will get to meet our dogs. *
Once approved you will be contacted by a team member and can organise a time best suited to meet with the carer and dog. If you have other dogs they must also be at the meeting, including any children in the immediate family.
Before applying please consider the following:
• real estate approval if renting
• any fencing repairs that may need to be done
• outside shelter
• breed knowledge
• do you have enough time for the breed of dog you are applying for?
If you and the dog get along, you have to option of taking the dog on the spot (at this time you will need to pay the full adoption price and sign the adoption agreement) You will then get a 2-week trial with the dog, during this time should things not work out you are to return the dog to Dusty Paws Dog Rescue. You will then receive a full refund; less $50 admin fee within 7 business days of the return of the dog.

Please also keep in mind that we are a volunteer run rescue which means we don’t have someone manning the phone 24/7, we all work full time jobs and get back to your calls and messages as soon as we can. We thank you for your time and patients with us.
