About Cloud
☁️ What does a cloud wear under its clothes? THUNDERWEAR! ⚡️
Well, our Cloud might not use underwear as a punny fashion statement, but we still think he has a lot of character. Cloud came and joined the Catters about two months ago when we were asked to help with two teen kittens who were living in their garden. We welcomed him with open arms (and a very strong desire to squish those cheeks!) and he has repaid us with a loving nature and calm personality.
Cloud is a quirky little thing with his big round eyes and adorable pointy ears, and has continued to show his best qualities whilst in foster care. We have come to learn that Cloud is quite the sensitive boy and tries to seek a close and loving friendship with those around him. While he may still look like a big boofy tomcat, he has adjusted well to the cats within his foster home so far but is still going through the slow introductions. He has lived with multiple cats peacefully before but has also remained vigilant because as an ex-tom he believed it was his duty to run the streets, and when you see this magnificent, giant creature in real life you will understand!
Cloud has lived with other cats and needs slow introductions. We are unsure how he would cope with dogs but predict that he will settle well with a very quiet, calm dog that didn’t feel the need to cramp his style. Because he is the quiet and sensitive type, he is best suited to a home with older children as opposed to younger children so that he can feel confident within his environment. A smaller and older family, couple, or single person would be best.
All adult cats are sent to potential new homes on a two week trial after an initial meet and greet before finalising adoption, with the adoption fee payable before they leave their foster home (to be half refunded upon their safe return within 14 days). While adult cats do take longer than this to settle into a new home, it allows a chance to see how the cat is coping with the new environment.

Medical notes
Medical Note: Cloud has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is a viral disease that can interfere with the immune system of the infected cat. As this virus progresses slowly, many cats go undiagnosed and those that are diagnosed can live years without showing signs of illness. Owners of cats that are FIV positive should pay close attention to signs of illness and seek veterinary treatment early to prevent a worsening condition, as the virus weakens the cat’s immune system. It is estimated that between 14-29% of cats in Australia and New Zealand are infected with FIV.
Important: FIV positive cats must be kept indoors or confined to a secure cat run to prevent spreading the virus which is usually transmitted through saliva entering the body through deep bite wounds. This also prevents them from acquiring other illness and disease.
