About Schnitty
A couple of years ago Schnitty was found as an urban stray and was taken in by a kind family where he also lived with 3 dogs. Unfortunately they now have to move and are unable to take him with them.
We could see that Schnitty had an issue with his eye called entropion. This is not uncommon in cats and describes a condition where the eyelid rolls inwards instead of out and as a result the eyelashes irritate the cornea which causes discomfort. Fast forward a month and Schnitty has had eyelid surgery, which he came through with flying colours. Now he is fully recovered and ready to go! He doesn't need ongoing medication but there is a small chance that the condition may recur.
Schnitty is a really affectionate cat but is not the best at dealing with a change in environment and when he came to SAFE he was unsettled and grumpy for a couple of weeks. However now he is relaxing, likes a good stretch and a smooch and kneading on his blankets. His previous family would cradle him like a baby near their faces and said he followed them everywhere and flopped at their feet for tummy rubs. Schnitty doesn't mind being picked up and loves head scratches, music and food.
