Rebel

Rebel by name but not by nature! This girl is cheeky and intelligent but also super sweet and wants to give kisses to everyone she meets. She is incredibly affectionate and lives for attention. If you love large breed dogs, this girl ticks all the boxes!

Rebel is very well behaved and has completed a 5-week board and train program successfully but continued training will see her really blossom in to all she can be. Rebel is crate trained and needs to sleep inside with her humans. She knows the commands sit, down (drop), crate, bed, slow (for loose lead walking) and the release command ‘ok’. She also takes food very gently by hand. Her recall is pretty good although she tends to do it at her own pace unless you have treats! She walks beautifully on the lead, doesn’t pull and will stay by your side. This girl is a dream in the car and loves to go for a drive. She also loves toys, playing and running!

Rebel just wants to be with her human and will cry like Scooby Doo if left alone inside but is fine on her own outside. She loves to potter around outside on sunny days and chill out on the couch with her humans on rainy ones. Like a typical Great Dane, she’s a real couch potato!

She would be best suited to a home with older children as her play style is boisterous and she could quite easily knock a little one over. Rebel requires a committed family who would be home more often than not, to ensure she gets lots and lots of daily exercise and mental stimulation. She’s not a fence jumper but when she gets bored, she will dig holes in the backyard and destroy any beds in her crate. She does get along with other dogs but needs to be with a submissive dog that isn’t going to be bothered by her confident and strong personality. She is not suitable for farming activity as loud noises scare her, although a quiet rural property or somewhere with lots of space for her to run would be ideal.
