About Buddy ~ 2yr Old Kelpie X(On Trial 17/12/22)
Buddy is a Kelpie cross, approx. 2 years of age & weighs approx. 19kgs.
Buddy is a highly affectionate, energetic boy, the kelpie traits are strong, he loves running, and herding and has a large cast. He enjoys playing and gets a huge amount of satisfaction and reward from being active and playing in the backyard. His favourite toys are floppy ones he can throw and chase, bounding around and being a goofball.
Buddy makes a brilliant training partner and would love to go on a run or walk with you. Given his infectious energy, he is an excellent motivator.
Buddy loves to snuggle, and one of his unique behaviours is to place his head against your chest and extend his front legs around your shoulders, literally pulling you in for a cuddle. He just loves being, on or around you and appreciates any affection you have to offer.
We have learnt despite his best intentions, his energy and enthusiasm are a bit much around small dogs and small humans, this could be attributed to the fact that he likes to herd them. Buddy would be suited to a home with a dog his size or larger or be an only dog at a home where someone is home more often than not, ideally, his new human would work from home.
Being an affectionate boy, Buddy doesn't like being left outside on his own for long lengths of time, but if let inside, he'll curl up on the couch and snooze until you get home. He loves being in and around his family. Buddy sleeps inside, currently at the end of the bed or on the lounge.
Buddy is currently house trained and can sit & wait but can easily get distracted so he will need someone who is committed to ongoing training. Buddy loves humans so much, that he would be happy as an only dog, given plenty of love, attention and exercise.
From his crooked ears to his white-tipped tail, Buddy is full of love and would make an amazing, loyal companion.
