About Bear ~ 6mo Amstaff X( On Trial 11/12/21)
Meet Bear, the very sweet 6-month-old Amstaff X. He’s a very affectionate little guy who is extremely social once he comes out of his shell. He just loves to be around his foster family and their friends. Once he’s had a sniff of you, he will roll over onto his back for belly rubs, which he loves!
Bear is a little nervous at first, but once he warms up, is very friendly towards people, kids,
cats and some dogs. Anyone who meets him, just loves him. His favourite thing to do is play
& snooze, just as any puppy would. Bear loves to be inside with the family, all he wants is your love and will even try to sneak some cuddles on the lounge with whoever looks comfy.
Bear is very clever and a quick learner. Since coming into care a few weeks ago, he has learnt to sit and wait for food on instruction, sit and give paw, and lie down. We are working on being consistent but, only being a puppy, he has been incredibly receptive to learning good manners too ,and responds well to gentle correction.
Bear is eager to learn and impress, so will come when called most of the time and will do
anything for a treat. He loves food and eats in a very relaxed manner for a puppy! This can be used, along with treats, to deter him from typical puppy behaviour like stealing slippers &
socks! Big juicy pig ears or enrichment toys will keep his teething and puppy mind occupied.
Bear needs a family that will include him in the fun activities of day-to-day life as well as
having someone that possibly works from home fulltime or just someone home, so he doesn’t get lonely and sad as he is still learning to be home on his own. We have started leaving him inside at home on his own for short periods of time, so he is starting to get used the idea & is very excited when we come home & loves to show it. A fur-sibling would be great too! Tall fencing and a fair-sized yard would mean he could run around to burn some of that energy.
Bear is toilet trained and goes the whole night without any accidents. He walks well on a lead but will need more training & continued encouragement to prevent pulling. The extra effort now in his puppy months will be worth it with this cheeky boy who loves any attention he can get.
Bear is in foster care in Hamlyn Terrace, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate.
