About Ariel
Ariel is a gorgeous female yellow Labrador x Golden Retriever raised in the Assistance Dogs Australia program. She is 10 months old, desexed and looking for her forever home!
Ariel is a lovable and affectionate girl, who loves the company of both humans and other dogs. Ariel has excellent home manners, toilets beautifully on cue and overall has a calm demeanour. She is happy to play but equally happy to chill. Ariel greets visitors to the home with interest and shares her love.
Although Ariel has shown some great qualities during her time in the Assistance Dogs Australia puppy education scheme, we have decided that she is not suitable to be placed as an Assistance Dog.
Ariel is fearful of the unfamiliar. Patience will be required while she is getting used to you and your home. It may take her a few weeks to get used to the neighbourhood noises and stop vocalising at unknown noises.
Ariel is insecure and at unease in most out of home environments.
Street walking on lead is a challenge for Ariel as despite the familiar there are always different things; dogs, people, or objects to be encountered and perceived with fear.
All Assistance Dogs are accustomed to spending most of their time with humans inside their home so her ideal person or family would spend a lot of time with her.
Ariel would love a quiet household with a predictable routine where there is no need for her to be overly social out of home. Having another dog in the home who is calm and well socialised would help greatly with her anxiety and allow her to expend some playful energy every day. A large garden is a must.
Ariel is a healthy young dog. Vaccinations and parasite protection have been kept up to date. If you think Ariel could be the right dog for you or you have any further questions, please email Mel at mwatson@assistancedogs.org.au so that I can pass on an application form for you to complete.
