John Flynn is a big ball of cuddles! He is looking for a home that can provide love as large as him.
John Flynn loves to play and is a natural āwater-dogā (think mud & puddles!). Being a bigger dog he does not know his size and when playing sometimes puts his paws up and āswatsā the other dog. He is dog friendly however is best suited to play with larger dogs due to his size and play style (ie 25kg+).
John Flynn is toilet trained, has no problem sleeping in his crate (minimum 48ā crate size) and is starting to learn basic commands. He walks well on the lead (needs some redirection at times) and usually does not need his halti.
Whoever is lucky enough to adopt him will need to have large breed experience to progress his training as he can be he can be āmouthyā and stubborn. He is a large puppy that still needs to learn his manners. He is a gorgeous natured dog, however needs firm boundaries during his adolescent years to set him up for success for the rest of his life. For this reason it is recommend an adult-only or household with dog-confident teens is recommended so that no-one is knocked over (he is a typical Great Dane āleanerā) or be intimidated by his size.
He loves lots of attention and needs to be kept occupied as he could be destructive if not adequately stimulated (daily walks/visits to dog parks). The ideal home he will be an inside dog with another large resident dog under 8 years old that he can play with.
He is currently living on acreage where he respects the resident horses and 1.2m ringlock sheep fencing (would need 6 foot fencing when left home alone).
