About Pickle~7 week old kitten (on trial 16/11/2021)
Meet Pickle
Pickle and his sister Dill were born on the 25th of September. Their mum is a beloved family pet who has since been spayed with the help of DRN.
Pickle is a sweet, petite little boy, who has completely come out of his shell while in foster care. He will potentially be a small cat - but you can never quite predict it!
He has the cutest little “puppy dog eyes” and expressive face. He has a gentle personality and always waits his turn.
Pickle is thoughtful and inquisitive. He is less rough and tumble than his sister, usually thinking before he acts.
He loves exploring and displays a lot of confidence for such a young kitten. He has a lot of potential to become a wonderful household member and faithful companion. His foster carer’s bet is that he will become a very cuddly, needy boy.
Pickle is very playful and loves toys. He also loves climbing his tower and wrestling with his sister.
It would be wonderful if Pickle could get adopted alongside his sister Dill, as kittens thrive in pairs - read this article by “The Kitten Lady” to learn why. http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens
Pickle would do best with another feline companion, but this is not essential for potential adopters who have previous experience with cats.
There are two young adult cats in his foster home who Pickle is confident with. He has also been exposed to two dogs, and could be ok in a home with a cat-friendly or gentle dog, where interactions are well managed until he grows bigger.
Pickle would be best with children over the age of 5 as he prefers a gentle touch and has very sharp little claws.
Pickle and Dill are using their litter perfectly and are eating good-quality kitten food.
DRN adopts cats and kittens out to Indoor homes only. Indoor means that cats don’t free roam, but can have access to the outdoors through an enclosure or other secure area.
Their adoption fee is $250 each or $450 as a pair. They are currently in foster care in Waratah West, near the University of Newcastle.
DRN kittens are vaccinated, microchipped wormed and flea treated prior to adoption. They will need to be adopted to a home in the Newcastle/Hunter/ Central Coast region to be returned to a DRN vet prior to four months old to be desexed - this cost is included in the adoption fee.
