Zeus ~ 8mo Labrador X Staffy(On Trial 21/11/21)

Meet Zeus, 8-month-old Lab x Staffy. Zeus is a wonderfully gentle natured boy who loves to be part of the fun, is extremely affectionate and fun loving.

Zeus enjoys learning new tricks and is eager to please. He can sit, stay, shake, high 5 and low 5 all with a smile on his face. He’s happy playing with his foster carers or snoozing through the day whilst they are out. He enjoys tug of war with his toys, squeaking his bone toy and chasing balls. He plays fetch with great enthusiasm. Zeus loves company and being part of the family. He is so gentle with the kids and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. He is a big smoochy bundle of fun.

Since coming into care, Zeus has learnt so many new skills and has enjoyed his new surroundings and meeting new people. He loves people. He loves to play with other dogs. He’s great at letting his carers know when someone’s arrived at the house. He gives a bark and then shakes his tail in excitement for visitors. Zeus can sometimes jump up if he gets too excited, and will need further training around this. Since arriving at his carers he’s learning to keep his feet on the ground. Zeus has made great progress walking on the lead. He was initially quite strong on the lead and didn’t have much experience. He will need further training around walking on a lead. We recommend that his future family continues using a halti on his walks. At times, Zeus is cautious about the local neighbourhood, meeting strangers and strange dogs. When he feels nervous Zeus will sit right at your feet for a soft word of encouragement from his carer. Zeus is toilet trained and sleeps in his carer's laundry each night. Through the day he is free to roam inside and out.

Zeus’s new family will need to be active and commit to including him in their lives. He’s met a number of dogs and enjoys the company once he feels safe so having another dog will not be an issue. He’s lived with kids and met their friends whilst living with his carer and has enjoyed the activity and the attention. He is a gentle and well mannered young man who just wants to be included and loved.

Zeus' new home will need good fencing that is 6ft tall with no small gaps. Unfortunately, rural fencing is not suitable.
