About Xena ~ 2yr Old German Shepherd X(On Trial 16/11/21
Meet Xena a 2 year old German Shepherd X. This beautiful girl came into care pregnant & gave birth to her puppies like a champion. She mothered them perfectly but now it’s time for her to be the one who’s looked after.
Xena is such a good girl. She sits, drops, shakes, her recall is more about her wanting to know where you are. Not necessarily because you've called her but because she craves human attention.
She was surrendered as a stray and DRN took her on. No body realised she was pregnant. She allowed her foster carer to help with pups, play with her teeth, paws, teats, everything. Once she bonds with you, you have her full attention. She does jump on you. Someone who is willing to teach Xena rules will be perfect as she’s a clever girl & will quickly learn what is acceptable and what isn’t. Xena has been on many adventures with other dogs and is not reactive while walking.
This mumma needs a chance to be her own self & prove herself to be a perfect family dog
Here is Xena’s wish list:
- To be welcomed inside, the more the better
- Someone who doesn’t leave her alone for long periods very often
- Another friendly dog for company
- An active owner with previous experience training dogs and a commitment to ongoing training, enrichment, and positive reinforcement (she may do well accompanying you on a run on a lead)
- Patience, lots of cuddles and affection
- High solid fencing
- Not tested with cats, pocket pets or chickens
